We proudly support early learning students and professionals, staff, and community families by providing high-quality learning experiences that nurture the whole child. Summer Camp will be available starting in 2027.

The Early Learning Center
Although our Early Learning Center is new, Chances And Services for Youth (CASY) has been serving children and families from cradle to college since 1971 through various programs. Our long-standing commitment to early learning and family supports helps build strong foundations for kindergarten readiness, success in school, and in life.
Our team of professional educators specializes in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, and related fields. Each staff member is selected for their nurturing nature and teaching excellence, and all have completed National Criminal History checks and continuous training and professional development. Teachers are certified in CPR and First Aid and trained in Safe Sleep practices and Child Abuse/Neglect detection and prevention. The skill and commitment of our teaching team enable us to strive toward Paths to QUALITY Level 4, the highest recognition in Indiana’s early learning quality system.

Operate Monday through Friday from 6:00AM to 6:00PM, with one fully staffed weekend per month to meet military family needs.

Strategically located within a 5-20 minute drive of Ivy Tech Community College, Indiana State University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, downtown Terre Haute, Brazil, and major employment centers. The site is positioned to directly support workforce participation and regional economic growth across Vigo and Clay counties.
This initiative aligns with the regional strategic plan, Grow UP in West Central Indiana, developed by Ivy Tech Community College, and Indiana State University. The plan presents compelling quantitative and qualitive data demonstrating that limited access to childcare remains a significant barrier to economic development, underscoring the urgent need for expanded, high -quality early learning opportunities in the region.

Our Philosophy
At CASY, we believe children learn best through active exploration, meaningful play, and teacher-guided experiences within a safe, thoughtfully designed environment. Our curriculum follows the Indiana Department of Education’s Foundations for Young Children and uses The Creative Curriculum, a research-based framework grounded in child development and learning theory. Through hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and build a lifelong love of learning.
Family engagement is central to our philosophy. We work in partnership with parents to ensure a smooth transition from home to our early learning center and to maintain consistency in each child’s growth and development. Families are invited to participate in their child’s learning through parent-teacher conferences, Parent/Teacher Activity meetings, seasonal family events, and more.
Our environment fosters creativity, confidence, and curiosity while offering a reliable, full-time schedule for families.
